Rupert Lowe’s first monthly net MP salary donation goes to Great Yarmouth GYTCIC, the community arm of Great Yarmouth Town FC.

Rupert Lowe, newly elected Reform MP for Great Yarmouth, has pledged to donate his entire net MP salary to local charities/worthy causes.  Each month, a different one or group of organisations will be chosen.

Rupert’s first net MP monthly salary will be donated to GYTCIC, the community arm of Great Yarmouth Town FC.

The amount will be roughly £4,000, not including Gift Aid. The club plan to spend the money on renovating their old cafe facilities, enabling better meals to be served and more money to be generated for the operation which is all put back into the club’s activities. In addition, part of the funding will be spent on improving the facilities for the 3G pitches, which are used by the local community including schools, businesses and casual teams.

This will not just benefit Great Yarmouth Town FC, but the Great Yarmouth & District Athletic Club and Gorleston FC who also use the ground.

Great Yarmouth Town FC is entirely not-for-profit, with all funds generated pumped directly back into the club, the ground, and the facilities.

Rupert Lowe Great Yarmouth MP commented:

“From my time as Chairman of Southampton, I know just how vital these local clubs are to the community. They are incredibly important assets, and should be treated as such. Great Yarmouth Town’s efforts in helping to encourage young children into sport, and off the streets, should be commended.

Through significantly improving their facilities, this will enable the club to generate more income and then use those funds to properly build for the future of Great Yarmouth Town FC.

I have met the Chairperson, Martyn, and I was inspired by his commitment to the local town. I am absolutely delighted to play a small part in helping the club financially. I intend to do far more as MP to encourage dialogue from the council to further enhance the club’s good work.”

Club Chairperson, Martyn Sinclair commented:

“We are extremely grateful to Rupert Lowe for this very kind and generous donation to our club. This money will help all people young and old in our community who use the Wellesley.

We work very hard and are very grateful to all our members, volunteers, players, supporters and sponsors who all do their bit to make sure we keep growing and building on our 127 years of existence.

We are very passionate about our club, our town and we care about our community and the people within it . We are proud to be a community club and will continue to work hard to make our town a great place.

Again we would like to say thank you to Rupert for this kind offer of help and support which is so valuable and hugely appreciated by us all.”
